From Razwulf

My plan, if i dare share it, is to try that link then if it doesn't let me in head straight for SeeTickets? which usually directs straight to the current See homepage but on the secure server

From Paddydog
QUOTE
Looky, the Glasto holding page is up.

Holding page
Paul
The holding page link is no longer a holding page, apparently.

This is nothing to get excited about though...

lol - odd they've taken out the active links tho eh wink.gif Test page my arse.

Possible ticket page for standard (ie non-coach/train) http://www.seetickets.com/g2008/regform.asp?orig=uk

That's just a complete guess, but it's worth a go at 09:00 as if it worked it would by pass the initial 'what ticket do you want' page

Either that or plain old http://www.seetickets.com/g2008. This is giving a 403 error at the minute which suggests there's something there but we're not allowed to look at it.
razwulf
It is worth noting none of those links worked last year - they redirected you to the main ticket choice page

No harm in trying them though, but don't bust a seam when you get such a url!

Aye, there may well be a point where it insists on a cookie that should have been set on a preceding page, but why not try smile.gif

I'm sure that would be possible to fiddle with (as in plant a cookie on your computer), but would take more geeky knowledge than I have I guess, and possibly more time than is available.

I imagine they have done something different with the cookies this year to avoid the back button thing from last year, I'd also assume they've made it so you can't do anything really obvious like just delete a cookie and make it work, but you never know I guess. Not sure how easy it is to edit cookies, I know you can but I don't know how confusing the syntax is.
razwulf
exactly my thoughts to both of you lol

it's all quite reasoned here. all sorts of mania on 'MyGlasto' but still so quiet really.
joker
Well I found a nice and simple cookie editor add-on for firefox. It's this one, if anyone fancies playing with it. I might do although I don't have a clue what I'm doing to be honest! Also I guess I'd need to know the content of other people's cookies to be able to figure out what's going on.

I guess they'd do something like assign a unique number to each session, with some kind of modifier or a second cookie when you access the booking form/make a transaction. Which I suppose they would track so it might be quite difficult to fool the system anyway, but I know bugger all about that kind of system design. If they don't store information like your IP address with the number then you might be able to do something (get someone to force a bunch of cookies which you can then recycle), especially if they also don't link the first cookie with the second one/track which ones get modified by getting a booking screen or making a transaction (on their end).

I could be totally wrong here though seeing as I just made all that up. Anyone more geeky than me want to assist? More because my interest is piqued rather than because I think it's either necessary or would actually work!
razwulf
I'm afraid I've lost my proactively geeky side - well in IT terms anyhows

Can I do it in some planty sort of way?
joker
Umm plant cookies?

All slightly odd so far. Firefox I get the holding page, and a bunch of cookies. The standard See ones (ServerID, ClientID, ASPSessionID) then ClientID and ServerID for the /g08/ path - same server ID, different number for ClientID. The odd thing is when I deleted the cookies I didn't get any new ones (after restarting firefox).

On Camino, I get a 404 page not found error despite the page showing on Firefox. I also got all the same cookies, with different Session ID and Client ID numbers/letters. On trying to get the page again, I got a new lot of See cookies along with the old ones but no new /g08/ ones. If I delete them I get the whole lot back.

Either there is something odd about my computer/browsers (entirely possible) or See is being odder than normal!
sadwitch
you have frightened me. I'm going to phone.
Paul
I'm off the internet for 2 weeks now. Good luck for Sunday everyone who is trying. I hope there's a weather thread started by the time I get back. Where is the weatherwatch bloke?

Please try again

Unfortunately, we are experiencing a much higher level of demand than normal and are limiting the number of simultaneous users in order to provide the best possible level of service.

You may try again as often as you wish. Please note that refreshing this page will not work! Alternatively please call 0871 220 0260

Thanks for your patience.
Dave

ok - we think we might have tickets using the seetickets link, but the screen seemed to timeout after payment. getting in again, we get a message saying the reg numbers have already been used...so no idea - we either have them or i suspect we're fooked. 2 of our lot have got the same ting
chimp
Cheers Dave. I hope someone has PMed you already.
I am still undecided, leaving it to the fates again so haven't Pmed as it should go to someone who really wants to go.

Good luck all!
Dave
OK BB and friends sorted - anyone else want to pm me phone details, have another page open.
eden
I keep getting the ticket selection page at https://www.wayahead-secure.co.uk/see/index.asp but it times out before I get to the booking page.

I have done it 3 times now - after entering reg numbers and postcodes (which must be the one that matches the reg number) and hitting proceed it sometimes gives an error. Simply hit back and resubmit and it swhould eventually go through to next page where you have tyo type 'Yes' to confirm the peoples details. So yeah, just persevere and good luck.Ok then - no more pm's so I'm gonna leave work and head home. Good luck all.
mindlessbint
ack none of it is working sad.gif
eden
Now I'm getting as far as http://www.seetickets.com/g2008/regform.asp?orig=uk but the page is completely blank sad.gif

edit: I got as far as entering postcodes and reg nos but then it said 'service unavailable' - eeek! Hope that doesn't mean it'll tell me the numbers have already been used when I get back in again!
doogie
I got mine. Anyone else need help?
razwulf
