I guess we're moving to the time for a new thread regarding Glasto 2009. Begone rumours, it's now time for goddam facts. And half baked opinions and rants, natch.
Of course it's going to be super weather. Warm without too much sun, absolutely no rain or mud, not too cold at night. That's a given. Poor Shay.
Who are we all looking forward to seeing? Carnival Collective? Biggles Wartime Band? Sieze The Cunting Fuck Off You Tedious Lentil Chewing Cunts Day?
Depending what kind of mood I'm in/how much I can walk by that point on Saturday night I'm looking forward to seeing the mighty Boss. Had tickets to see him at the Emirates last year but Wychwood got in the way of that appointment. I hope he plays (in reverse numerical order, it goes without saying. Lists are well cool):
10 - Good Eye
9 - Independance Day
8 - Radio Nowhere
7 - The River
6 - Thunder Road
5 - Kingdom Of Days
4 - Badlands
3 - Girls In Their Summer Clothes
2 - Born To Run
1 - American Land
Of course, I may well end up not seeing any of Bruce's set at all. So be it. It's the best party of the year, something more pressing may come up. And therein lies the magic of the place.
So come on kids, let's get all sweaty and excited together...

I'm seeing Bruce. If you aren't there then you are an idiot. Oooh, I can go with both my husbands this time.
And, I'm going to see The Specials and Billy & Tony.
Anything else I will be too wasted for.
Shall we have Tapas Thursday? Along with a T sounding cocktail. And, FMule Friday & Smohito Saturday & Drink everything Sunday.
Edit: I have a beautiful vision of where we are going to be but I've forgotten the stink of the loos over that side. I wonder if we should have a re-think. My vision is ruined.

Goodness, I often forget how many wives I have. What a lucky fella I am.
I think our spot in Family Camping is going to be the perfect spot (for me anyway). Lock up, cafe and toilets all 30 seconds walk away, Pyramid 5 minutes walk one way, Acoustic 3 minutes down the little path by the side entrance to the kids field. Easy walk through the circus and theatre fields to Jazz, Avalon, Trash City. John Peel and t'Other Stage are miles away but then white men playing guitars don't hold that much fascination for me so that's alright. The Dance Village and Park can be our day out destinations (picnics, frisbees ,whiskey, class A drugs, that should do the trick).

Do we not have a lack of children to allow us all to camp in Family? There was talk of doing a hedge jump to be next to Family but out of it so that we can be loud and hateful. Is that not happening? We'll be camped somewhere, possibly over towards Spring Ground. Maybe.
We will think about camping somewhere different, but probably end up roughly where we always camp.

Yay! My sister's friend Vicki is coming to Glasto. She's had a baby since I saw her last so presumably will be a bit more with it than at reading where she brought nothing apart from a bag of Kettle Chips and a set of washing line poles she mistook for a tent and we had to make her a bin bag anorak but yay anyway!

Really don’t have a clue where I’m camping this year. I was in Pennards with the Anderspants crew last year. Great people but I wasn’t particularly enamoured with the location or some of our neighbours. I might head back to my spiritual home in Dragon as it didn’t fill up quite so quickly last year. There again some people have been pestering me for ages to join them in Kidney Mead but I haven’t camped north of the railway track since 2002 & I fear change!

The Dave from here who turned up to a festival with a bottle of tequilla.
She's allowed to booze yes, I was meaning the turning up with a washing line and kettle chips and no booze. No booze anywhere is a mistake but particularly when there's not much in the way of comfort.
Anyway, I'm having huge mentalness about camp us now.

Next year is the year to go, I have this on absolute good authority. It's some birthday or other and it is going to be huge, this is why I am not fussed at all about going, it will be nice to have a break and watch it from the comfort of my sofa for a change as I have never seen it on tv before, only vids after the party. Also Milly will be old enough to take then or leave, depending on how you and Ally feel about it.
I am getting my live pop fix from T4 on the beach this year. You and Ally could take Milly to that, a nice, safe day party with donkeys.

Not exactly sure what I was doing for 5 days last year but I never made it to Trash City, either in the day or night. Whoever is in my company after hours this year will be dragged along, or perhaps they will please do the dragging.
Look at it, it looks bloody ace. I would imagine in various states of relaxation I thought it seemed too much hassle, too many people. Not really sure why I thought that; I like large groups of up for it people, I like very loud banging music with a hectic atmosphere and I like lasers and explosions and that malarky. This year it shall be my home from home after hours.
Good, glad that's sorted.

I spent a fair bit of time in Trash City & Shangri La on the Friday evening last year. There wasn’t much on the main stages that took my fancy that night & I really wanted to see Bison again in Club Dada so I got up there early enough to see the mutant vehicle parade even though a few of them were restricted by the mud. The robot drummer was fantastic. Spent a good while raving to Eat Static at the flaming DJ Tower and also in the House of Dolls before moving on to spend most of the rest of the evening in the Jacuzzi Lounge.
I went back up there again fairly late on Saturday night and it was absolutely rammed so I bailed out again fairly quickly.
Apparently they are going to shift things about a bit again this year. From what I’ve been told Shangri La is shrinking and the original Lost Vagueness Field (the first one you enter from the railway track with the Strummer Stone in the corner) is being given over to “Arcadia” who did all the pyrotechnics in Trash City last year.

We wandered through a few times last year, the pyrotechnics and stuff was great and it was much less horrifying that lost vagueness used to be. There was also a brilliant bagel van in there somewhere. I don't believe you didn't go there at night.

This kind of thing is a strong contributing factor to us camping up in Pennards etc. I know how tired I'll be and if I'm camped the other side of the pyramid the chances of me actually heading up there or to the park at night are massively reduced whereas camped where we did it's a 5/10 minute stroll.

I didn't go there at night. Or to Shangri-La. I know, I'm rubbish but LV scared me so much that I wasn't sure how I'd cope with it all.
Someone needs to drag me around places this year, and not let me sit on my arse the whole weekend. I will probably moan that I don't like crowds and how it's all really scary etc., but all that's required is a brief talking to and I'll be right as rain.
That said, if they have that fucking recorded message tannoy system, telling people which direction things are in, I may go on a violent rampage. Or at least have a bit of a rant.
