No, I just find it sad that a festival is cancelled for such utter bollocks of reasons.

This might well be the death knell for this one I think. Which is a real fucking shame.

Yep. Changes in the licence requirements meant they had to find a lot of extra cash for security they don't really need (people are hardly queuing up to jump the fence...) and they ran into severe financial difficulties. Were bailed out in the end by an anonymous benefactor but it was touch and go.

I'm not a massive conspiracy theorist but it is starting to look a little like the council are trying to stamp it out.

Ultimately Murdoch I heard...? It's a rum do and no mistake, etc.

Apparently Big Chill have stepped in, like they did for Sunrise last year.

No idea on any of the details and haven't has a chance to investigate, but if I find anything more out I'll post it in here.

Various festivals have, but they can only accept a percentage of BGG ticketholders. Just see the BGG main page for details as they evolve.

The nature of the BGG also means that no other festival is going to be any kind of replacement. It's not a music festival for starters.

I just like how people bitch and waste MORE of their time instead of just ignoring that which is easily ignorable.

There was an article in the Guardian yesterday which was highly critical over the way BGG is handling it's refunds policy. Looks like a lot of people won't be getting their money back if they booked directly through the BGG website!
