Who is up for getting tickets Sunday? Darth and Ange are not going again next year, I don't know if Chimp has said yet?

I am going but not sure if Jay will get time off from Uni and Ollie has been put in for GCSE Science a year early so he looks unlikely, might be on my own?
Salks
I'm putting down a deposit this year. Although when tickets go on sale I'll be in a car on the way to Middlesex so doubt I'll get through.
Olivia
Yep. smile.gif

i intend to work again, and a such i have not yet had any stress over any of the T-days.

Good luck to all who need them.

I will be bidding on behalf of Team Jones, I have some fear about it.

Me.

Sal, if we can order 4 tickets per person again this year you could go on mine? I think you can split the order when you pay the balance, although I may be wrong...
jollynolly
I'm in..................but I'm going out Saturday night so I'll be hungover and grumpy as hell come ticket day
Ange
Nope I'm not trying on Sunday. If when we get back from honeymoon there's tickets left (and we've got any money left) then we'll put down a deposit.

Word from the Man of Info is the booking page will allow you to buy 8 this year.

I'm in & Tortlet Snr will be coming along for the first time as well. Can't wait to see her reaction when she finally gets to see what I've been whittering on about all these years. biggrin.gif

We will be putting a deposit down, but not on Sunday. As money is pretty tight due to various things.

Fingers crossed we still can a little later in the month.
Sonny
Ging and I will be attempting it on Sunday. Was wavering but she sent me this http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2009/06/g...nbury_2009.html smile.gif
tim

Scratch this, it now looks like we will be trying on Sunday. Despite the initial mad rush i reckon it will be all fine and dandy.

Hello happy campers. Can anyone give a synopsis of the Glasto-ticket-buying malarky these days?

I might be able to scoot back in June, but I will not know until friends decide if they're delaying their wedding.... which they won't know for some months, which I won't be buying any international flights for a while. Is it all sewn up before the old April scramble-around-online-all-night ticket buying haze? You have to send in ID now?

Jessica.

Errr... you haven't heard it's already sold out then? unsure.gif

Returns only from now on & no idea as to when they may be on sale. But yes you'll have to register to stand a chance of getting one.
dannyo
I don't want to tempt fate but it looks like I've found a way to get there after all. In fact there's a coupleof ways I can get in. Involves working but beggars can't be choosers eh?!

Next year I will remember to register

Do you really think that was all the tickets on sale on sunday? Personally i think they will have held some back and will put them on sale in a month or so, along with the duplicate ones.

Then in March, they will do the ones that people haven't paid up the balance of, or cancelled ones.

This is only my guess though.

I think a lot of people are pinning their hopes on another largish tranche being released later due to the fact that only 100,000 were initially released in October last year. But I've seen nothing other than speculation to suggest that this might be the case this year and the message on the offical website is very much "Sorry, we're sold out - better luck next time".

Obviously there will be a small release when they know how many people don't cough up the full amount after putting down a deposit but this was reckoned to be in the region of 2% last year so anybody wanting one of these will have to be quick.

e2a there have been a few duplicate orders this year. Not sure how if you can only use each registration once but this may mean a few come back onto the market over the next couple of weeks.

I have to agree with Tort - it looks to me like they're going for one major ticket release, with much smaller resales based on errors & people not paying up come January. Anyone wanting to get in on the act is going to need to be alert!
Ms. Hotpants
Thanks Tort for that update. I had no idea that they sold the tickets the year prior to the event!! The last one I went to was 2005 before I left the country, and that was just the mad April scramble for tix. I read all the news about the line up and check out all the great photos but haven't looked at ticketing! Tsk! Damnit, silly me!

I can't predict if I'll be back for a June holiday to the UK at this stage, and without a Glasto ticket then I see no point. The festivals are good down under but nothing even close to the first half-day of Glasto. That, in part, is due to not being able to enjoy that festi vibe with old friends.

I trust you will all take superb photos of your gurning selves biggrin.gif

Last year was the first time they did the deposit scheme in October but it still didn't sell out until February so this has caught a lot of people on the hop.

Can I just suggest that everyone check's out Jessica's flickr photos - they are fantastic.
becks
The more sold the sooner the bigger the bank balance. It would make no business sense to hold any back.

If anyone hears of someone picking up a ticket then can they ask them what website and ideally what link they used? The one that Kit posted up is no longer working.

Cheers.

If there was a way to change Joe's deposit to you I could do that. He's definitely not going as he goes to Peru on the Monday.

If anyone knows if you can do it then you can do that.

If you can keep a check on efestivals as that is where I saw a thread where people were able to buy them. Can you access the internet at work? I can't.
soliphant
I think it's just scaremongering as the embarrassment of not selling out till the last minute is still fresh in the minds.

In my mystic meg moment I predict tickets will become easier to get in the next few years and not harder.
Kit
If they get any more expensive I think you are right.
