They have the makings of a fun line up already this year with Dizzie Rascal and The Flaming Lips being the big names. Same weekend as EOTR though. Really annoying.

Bloody first weekend of my second year at uni. Can't go. Again.
£150 for a ticket plus the ferry over, works out a bit expensive.

Interview on efests with RDB, they're swapping around the Big Top and the Main Stage for this year. A no-brainer I guess but good move all the same. Just hope they've banned space hoppers this year.

To be fair they only had it in the current stupid position for the last two or three years. Prior to that they had it in a completely different stupid position.
I don't care too much because it's all about the Big Top for me.
And Bramble FM obviously.

Right. As we have had to cancel a trip to St Vincent due to lack of funds/time and as Greg is going to Ireland for 10 DAYS without me it would seem that the only holiday I am really having is a fabulous 4 day trip to Carcasonne with t' lasses...
I'm now thinking this or SGP? This will be alone without an actual husband so it needs to be easy and I may need helpers like a handicapped. Comments?

Tough choice. Bestival has Bramble FM, SGP is on the same land mass.
If I was making the decison for myself, I'd probably go for SGP - Smaller, not commercial at all, more freedom (the Police are effectively paid off and told to only stop blatant, large-scale dealing and fights, of which there are none cos it's lovely), it's amazingly fun and creative and it feels less forced and more fluid. You can also take your own alcohol all over the site.
However, Bestival is more music orientated, there is still a lot of freedom (low Police presence on-site), there is the toboggan and it's all very well organised. None of your own alcohol into the arena and it's quite pricey once you're in there.
I know it sounds like I'm underselling Bestival but it is still a great festival with loads going on and something to keep you entertained all day long. I just don't like it as much as SGP, but I think you might prefer Bestival.

I think Olivia has hit the nail on the head. Not been to SGP but from what I know I think you would probably prefer Bestival. However, you will love both and I am at both so desperately want you to come to...BOTH.
I'd recommend Bestival for you but SGP is earlier in the year so go to that one and then Sonny, Hurlage, Reuben and I will spend a couple of months persuading you to come to Bestival as well.
You will LOVE Bramble FM.

If you want to go then you can get a ticket right up until the week before. It often sells out but there are always loads of tickets exchanging hands.
